Botricello
Botricello, little town in the province of Catanzaro, lies along the national road “SS106 Ionica” and the railway Catanzaro Lido-Crotone.
The town has about five thousand inhabitants and is a tourist attraction as well as an agricultural and trading centre.
The recent tourist development is based mainly on three big resorts and on other facilities, such as cafés and restaurants, generally located on the seafront.
Today Botricello is in the middle of a swift and deep transformation, thanks to its favourable position along the national road Catanzaro-Crotone.
Farming has historically been the very first economic activity, and still represents an important source of income. Today it is carried out not only with the traditional cultivation of cereals and olive groves but, thanks to the system of cooperative irrigation, it is also possible to cultivate vegetables such as tomatoes, fennels, potatoes, vineyards and orchards.
