Farming

Among sown and grazing lands, woods, olive groves and orchards, our farm spreads on an area of about 250 ha., variously and intensely cultivated: to the traditional and centuries old farming of olives and cereals such as wheat and barley, we have added during the years other cultivations, such as sugar beets, tomatoes and French beans, all picked mechanically.
Widely appreciated are, moreover, our early peaches and our hothouse vegetables.

Production

We look after our production directly, following techniques that, combining the old country culture with recent innovation, improve the quality of our production without damaging its wholesomeness. Our products are mainly addressed to our guests: at La Casa di Botro fruit and vegetables truly pass “from the producer to the consumer!”. Moreover, we also look after some other production: chickens, rabbits, pigs and calves, all reared in our farm, provide our guests daily with fresh and tasteful meat dishes.

Direct sales

A part of our production is addressed to direct selling; furthermore, to the freshness and wholesomeness of our fruit and vegetables, we add many tasteful local products carefully selected by us.

Jams, olive oil, wine, preserves, vegetables in olive oil, typical sauces, chestnut flour, traditional cheese and salami, all these products help in keeping the traditional Calabrian taste going.
